Summer Kick-off Update

Summer has come around, and it's gotten warm here in Las Vegas. So that means it's time for another update...

Stacey has a new job working in HR for a non-profit organization that runs facilities that take care of patients with severe head traumas, among others. It's a fairly responsible position (her resposibilitity is all of Nevada), and she's liking it.

I am enjoying my new career as a poker dealer at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Wish I was working more shifts, but I'm the new guy, so I get what's left over. Might change in the next few weeks, but in the meantime, we just hang on. Also, I've landed a freelance writing gig for Poker Pro Magazine, a new magazine on the poker lifestyle. I just completed an interview with last year's Poker Player of the Year, Daniel Negreanu, and am working on an article about the new Wynn Las Vegas. I'm also doing a review of Rain, the nightclub at the Palms. The magazine's first issue is just hitting the streets, and for now is a bi-monthly. They hope to take it monthly by the first of the year, and hopefully that will mean more work for me.

But enough of that. Let's get to the stuff you're you're really here for - more pictures of Carolyn.

I got a new digital camera, and decided to take it with me when I took Carolyn to the park. This is one of my favorites from that day. And no, I didn't give her the hat; she took it off my head right before I snapped the picture. The new camera lets me take pictures so crisp that I can actually blow this up to poster size.
Another favorite from that day. We had lots of fun in the park, especially in the water features that are there (fountains and sprays that the kids can play in). Carolyn loves the water, especially on these warmer days.

Carolyn having a little snack at home. She's very tall now (looks like a 4-year-old), and surprises us with new words every day. She's informed us that she wants to be an astronaut, but that she needs an astronaut costume and a green helmet (her words). I expect she'll ask for the car keys next weekend.
I had to add this image from our annual fishing trip. We've been doing this trip for years, thanks to my brother Paul. It has been an annual tradition to take this trip for Father's Day, and it was a trip we've always enjoyed. But this year was a little different. This was the first time that all four brothers were able to make it on the trip. In past years, there was always one of us missing for one reason or another. This year, we were all able to make it, and Karl was able to bring his daughter BJ and son Donovan. We had a great time, and I'm sure Pops was there with us in spirit.

That's all I've got for now, but be sure to click the link below to leave your comments!

UPDATE: Just for Ken, a close-up of the fish:
