Checking in from Sin City...

Howdy folks,

Well, I think both Stacey and I are glad to have said "good riddance" to 2004. We lost my Dad in the early part of the year, and I lost my job in November (a week before Thanksgiving), forcing us to sell our home.

Still, we had a great Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year, celebrating Carolyn's birthday as well.

Here are some pics from the holidays (click on the images for a larger version, they're big):

Carolyn getting her first real play in the snow. We've had quite a bit of snow this year (heck, we had avalanche warnings in the local mountains this week), and we've had the chance to take Carolyn up to the mountains for a couple of visits to the snow.
Carolyn finds out that snow is cold! This particular day was just after a fresh snowfall of fluffy, powdery snow, the kind you can blow off your hand in a puff. Where I took her she was able to make the first footprints, and she didn't want to leave. Her hands and feet were freezing, but she just wanted to keep playing.
One of Carolyn's gifts was this great set of a table and two chairs that are perfect for her to draw on, have a snack, etc.

Since the first of the year, we've made some changes. First, the house was sold, and we've moved into a smaller, but quite nice rental that actually suits us perfectly. If you need the address, get hold of us and we'll pass it along. Our phone numbers remain the same.

I am working on a few of my own projects, but also went to school to learn a new set of skills - dealing poker. Poker is becoming huge here in Las Vegas, with new large rooms opening up every month. And, interestingly enough, they make about what I was making at my last job. So, to take advantage of the growth, I enrolled in a school that teaches poker, among other games. I completed the course today, and will be auditioning for new positions next week.

Stacey and I can still be reached at the same email addresses, so feel free to drop us a line, or click below to add a comment to this entry. More updates to come as news develops!
